I am an Assistant Professor of English at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. I teach technical and professional writing, public writing, digital writing, grant writing, and general literature courses. I also direct the Writing Across the Curriculum program, which houses all our writing to learn courses. My research focuses on first-generation college students, pedagogy, and the rhetoric of mothering and motherhood. My current research is focused on breastfeeding and postpartum rhetorics.
I received my PhD in Rhetoric, Writing, and Culture in 2016 from North Dakota State University. I taught courses in writing and rhetoric while a Teaching Assistant during my PhD. I also worked as a part time grant-writer for the nonprofit, Spirit Room in Fargo, ND.
